Teachers’ and Therapists’ Wishlist

The items on the wishlists that we have published include items that several teachers, therapists, and aides have told us are needed and appreciated for the school year. Simple items such as small therapy stress balls help keep students with sensory challenges, and other special challenges, in the classroom with their peers. Basic supplies like pencils, pens, notebooks, and binders are always needed. Some supplies such as flushable wet wipes or Clorox clean up wipes are not always thought of when we think of supplies for schools, but the dedicated people who work with our kids know how needed they really are throughout the year of runny noses, sneezes, and snack sharing. What about new backpacks and gym shoes? We want to present these items to teachers and staff so they can discretely provide them to students who have a need for such items at the start of the year, without embarrassment. We also want to be able to continue helping the schools throughout the year, so volunteers for our Mind the Gap initiative, monetary donations, or gift card donations will also help greatly.  There is also a list of items specifically for those visiting our friends at Lagoona Magoo and Once Upon A Toy, both of which have many of the special school supplies that help students with with disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, or other special needs. The hip, cool people at both locations are friendly, fun and helpful, so make sure you drop in and see them. The ICAA goal is to supply at least two area schools (fully) this year.  We have several MIND THE GAP IN EDUCATION DONATION BIN LOCATIONS throughout the area for your convenience. You may also donate securely through our PayPal button here at the website. Thank you for any help you can give to help us help our local schools.

I want to add visual schedules and picture flashcards!! I also always need dry erase markers and sharpies. My kids always run out of pencils and sharpened pencils are needed and that’s why I really appreciated your pencil project last year! It helped more than you know. THANKS for all you do for kids and us teachers. :) )
