What’s Happening This Month

ICAA Radio returns!  The “welcome back” episode with Chief Gene Saunders of Project Lifesaver International, airs Thursday June 7th at 6 PM Central. Listen live on BTR, on I-Tunes, or here. Call in number is 718-766-4749 and we do take as many calls as we can during the show.

The ICAA weekly blog series begins this month. The weekly blog series, “No Puzzles Here” is written by ICAA President Emily Malabey, from an advocate and parent’s perspective. Topics will include autism, advocacy, parenting, education, and more.

The ICAA will present the Mind the Gap winner with the educator appreciation award. The recipient is a local educator and was chosen last month by the ICAA Executive Board. Stay tuned to the website and the ICAA Radio for more about the recipient, what she won and why she was chosen.

June 24th from 4-5 PM is our monthly ICAA meet-up at the Crestwood Animeggroll location.  The meet-ups are for anyone in the area with disabilities, advocates, and families.

June 30:  Mind the Gap second annual school supply drive begins.  The ICAA will have one or more collection sites.  In kind donations of needed educational, technologicial, and basic school supplies may also be mailed to us. Monetary donations can be made securely through our paypal account.  Recipients will be schools and/or classrooms in the St. Louis metro area, who serve children with all abilities. This may include public or private schools, educators, and classrooms. Generous donors will be mentioned on the website, our social networks and/or in our ICAA Radio program.  Every donation for the MTG drive will be used for the MTG drive to ensure needy students and schools are helped this coming school year with supplies, equipment and learning materials.  The ICAA is an all volunteer organization. The ICAA is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations are tax deductible.
